Weekend Wind Down

This week we have an update on Monday's blog, every sneaker grail ever and some Kanye West news that probably isn’t true. Let’s get to it!

Virgil Dunk Update

I can’t confirm or deny which is true in regards to Virgils Off-White dunk release but we have a possible update on Monday’s blog. Monday I reported that Virgils “The 20“ collection will be 20 pairs of dunks and that to me is way to many but according to sources Virgil plans to release 50 different colourways of the Nike Dunk, each pair would be numbered 1/50 denoting the colourway. If this is true I might just cancel the blog, sell my sneakers, move to a remote cabin in the woods and cry every night before I go to bed. I’m already tired of dunks so adding a 50 burger to the already saturated dunk hype market might just send me over the edge.

Sotheby’s Grail Auction

Sotheby’s auction house is preparing to auction off maybe the most rare collection ever assembled in one place. The collection in my estimate will sell (individually) for over $1,000,000 USD. Some of the pairs include the Wahlburgers 4’s, Eminem 4’s and even a mismatched signed sample pair of Kanye’s Nike Air Yeezy 1. The trust fund babies are licking their chops and counting the days until this auction happens. If any billionaires are reading this those pink OVO 11’s would look really nice on my feet, I am willing to be a sugar baby just let me know.

Did Yeezy Just Jump Over Jumpman

Bloomberg media reported earlier in the week that Kanye West’s estimated net worth is 6.6 billion dollars which would make him the wealthiest black man in the world. This is massive news because just six years ago Kanye was reportedly $53 million in debt. i don’t know if I fully believe this report because some of the numbers are a little strange which would make sense because I don’t think there’s anyway he’s richer than Michael Jordan. Some of the skewed numbers include Bloomberg estimating the value of Kanye’s Yeezy brand being worth anywhere from 1.2-2.8 billion dollars... that’s one and a half billion dollar discrepancy in their reporting. Later on in the day Forbes came out with their own report stating that Kanye is worth 1.8 billion as opposed to 6.6 billion that Bloomberg reported. I’m by no means an expert but I have a hard time believing that Kanye is worth more that Jordan and the 1.8 billion dollar valuation makes a lot more sense to me.
