Best Things I've Seen This Week (Dec 6-12, 2020)

Trophy Room X Jordan 1 (Chicago)

Lately images of Orlando based sneaker boutique Trophy Room’s (owned and operated by Michael Jordan’s son Marcus) latest collaboration with Jordan Brand have been floating around the internet. At first glance it may just look like a regular “Chicago” Jordan 1 (which we need a re-release on by the way Jordan Brand) but upon closer inspection you can see the details on this pair go absolutely crazy. The shoe has an overall vintage look about it overlayed with what seem to be sparkles, which are very understated and seem to add to the vintage look. The out-sole is translucent with red and blue stars on the bottom reminiscent of the floor of an NBA All-Star game (All-Star weekend drop possibly???). The cherry on top of it all is Michael Jordan’s own signature stamped on the lateral part of the heel. The iconic silhouette, the collaboration with Trophy Room and the details paired with the fact that there will most definitely be a very limited amount that release will make this an instant grail to many. Look for these to possibly drop early next year or around NBA All-Star weekend.

Stussy X Nike AF1

Hot off the heals of the two companies collaborating on a “Spiridon Cage 2” silhouette earlier in the year Stussy and Nike are dropping two different colourways of Nikes iconic “Air Force 1” in both a fossil and a black. The upper is made entirely of a synthetic hemp derived material with Stussy branding on the tongue as well as the heal of the shoe. The clean cut of the Air Force 1 really compliments the all over colour of the shoe and makes it an easy addition to your rotation, matching well with many different fits. Be careful around the all black AF1’s though, don’t want to give off any criminal activity vibes…

KITH X Knicks X NBA City Edition Jerseys

@RonnieFieg on IG

Ronnie Fieg and his New York based clothing brand/sneaker boutique KITH have partnered with the New York Knicks NBA team to design the teams newest “City Edition” jersey which every team gets to represent their city. This is a massive move for KITH and street wear notoriety in general. Ronnie Fieg is synonymous with New York style so it only makes sense for this collaboration to happen and the results are an extremely clean jersey with deep New York City roots that will resonate with many New Yorkers and Knicks fans alike. Look for the Kicks to be wearing these jerseys in all of their Friday night as well as nationally televised games this upcoming NBA season.

Now for something that I hated this week...

Adidas X Kid Cudi Signature Shoe

Now for one thing I saw this week that I really did not like, and that honor belongs to Kid Cudi and his signature shoe releasing with Adidas. Kid Cudi has been given a signature shoe with Adidas that happens to align with his latest studio album “Man On The Moon III: The Chosen”. The album in my opinion is lightyears ahead of the shoe. This shoe is reminiscent of the old Reebok “Alien Stompers” (yes that’s the real name) that released a while back for the anniversary of the movie “Alien” starring Sigourney Weaver, which might actually be the inspiration for the shoe due to the name of Cudis album being man on the moon. This sneaker as a whole really doesn’t move the needle for me and I have seem an abundance of comments saying that the black version of this shoe looks like a walking boot you would wear after you sprain your ankle and honestly, that’s not too far from the truth.
